Spencer Group in the UK Rail Industry Awards 2015’s top three most shortlisted companies

RAIL infrastructure firm Spencer Group has been named as a finalist in no fewer than six categories in the UK Rail Industry Awards (UKRIA) 2015.

The company, which is headquartered in Hull, has made the final in six categories, including Workforce Safety and Outstanding Projects Large £20m+, ranking it in the top three most shortlisted organisations at the awards – Network Rail and Northern Rail have been shortlisted in eight and six categories respectively.

The late Kenny Chalmers, Spencer Groupss former Rail Infrastructure Director, has also been shortlisted in the prestigious Lifetime Achievement category.

David McLoughlin, Managing Director at Spencer Group, said: “It is fantastic news that Spencer has been shortlisted in no fewer than six categories in the UKRIA. These awards are a key event in the rail industry calendar and one that most organisations within the industry seek to be part of.

“I want to make special note of Kenny Chalmers’s shortlisting in the Lifetime Achievement award. He is sorely missed by everyone at Spencer as I am sure he is by everyone that worked with him throughout his enviable career. It would be a fitting tribute should Kenny win the award on the night, and richly deserved.

“The UKRIA are a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the great work that is undertaken within the rail industry and I am sure it will be another memorable occasion in London next year.”
